Mercury Accounts Receivable Services, LLC (MARS) opened its doors and began providing services to the healthcare community in November 2015.  Although the firm is young, its growing team of professionals currently has a collective seventy-five (75) years of experience in supporting the healthcare revenue cycle. Currently, MARS employs ten staff members on two teams, one specializing in Acute Care and the other in Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health billing and follow-up. All staff are well versed in records and clinical policy review to ensure compliance. MARS specializes in compliant healthcare insurance billing, follow-up and denials management efforts to effectively resolve account balances with an accurate payment from the patient’s insurance carrier. All are provided with a focus on integrity and excellent customer service.

We have a passion about insurance billing, follow-up and accounts receivable resolution that is unmatched in the industry. Our professionals are members of the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), so we take our profession and your accounts receivable seriously. We specialize in all insurance receivables including Medicare, Medicaid, BlueCross BlueShield, Commercial, Managed Care, and Workers' Compensation. Our client mix includes hospital systems, home health and hospice agencies, ambulatory surgical centers, and substance abuse/mental health providers.

Our Leadership

David Nicholas, CRCE, President, is the owner of Mercury Accounts Receivable Services, LLC. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and is a Certified Revenue Cycle Executive through the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM). David is a former Chairman of the Board for the local Virginia Chapter of AAHAM and has been a member of this board in various capacities for many years.  With more than forty (40) years working in the healthcare field, thirty (30) of which has been directly focused on all aspects of hospital revenue cycle management and information technology in both for-profit and not for-profit organizations. His exceptional wealth of knowledge and years of experience allows him to quickly identify claims processing anomalies and insures providers are able to bill claims accurately so they can be paid correctly by governmental and commercial insurance carriers.
